Absolutely do not rub or squeeze your eyes under any circumstances, even if they feel itchy or irritated. Rubbing can displace the corneal flap.

Use the prescribed antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops exactly as directed by your doctor. Also, use lubricating/artificial tears frequently to manage dry eyes.

Prevent water from entering your eyes (until your 1-week check-up). Avoid direct face washing; use a clean cloth or saline solution to wipe your face. Avoid having hair washed at home unless you can tilt your head back carefully.

Wear sunglasses outdoors during the day to protect your eyes from bright light, UV rays, dust, and wind.

Avoid eye makeup for at least 2 weeks.
No swimming for 2 weeks, and no diving for 4 weeks.
Limit strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and activities that cause excessive sweating for 1-2 weeks.

Rest as much as possible, especially on the first day. Limit screen time (phone, computer, TV)

Healthy Habits: Maintain a balanced diet rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamins A, C, and E, stay well-hydrated, and get adequate sleep.
Safety First: Use protective eyewear during hazardous activities (e.g., home repairs, gardening, contact sports).
Attend Follow-Ups: Keep all your scheduled eye appointments (even long after the surgery) for routine eye health monitoring.
